Last sentence before "Road Ahead" is wrong. He came across the libe in 11th after cutting the tire. Really too bad, he raced like a champion Sunday.

What's with the Jeff Gordon call to take 4 tires and be last out of the pits with 5 to go???? This isn't the first time they've done this and got burned....you'd think they would learn!!! Gordon was runnng 7th and "might make it on fuel" while almost all others would probably have to stop. When I saw the caution wave with 9 to go, my first thought was "great, now Gordon can stay out , inherit first place and maybe win this thing". Running 3 -4 laps under caution would definitely save enough fuel to make it and he would gain 5 bonus points for leading a lap. Wow...Was I surprised when I saw him pit with everybody else, but I thought maybe he would take a splash of fuel and go, beating everybody out of the pits...OK maybe 2 tires and fuel and maintain 7th.... BUT 4 tires and a chassis adjustment and leaving the pits LAST with 5 to go??? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING????? Did they expect to pass 17 cars with 5 to go??? If this was the crew chief's call Gordon should have overuled him. This is not a move you expect from a Jeff Gordon team!!!! Changes should bemade....this could cost him a place in the Chase.

Thanks for posting. It is a pretty disappointed day and yet, what's new, right? Jeff really has to get down to the "restart", he lost spots on all most every restart, he said that he doesn't like the line he had on the restart, but, how come other drivers can drive like a manic on the restart and advanced their positions? Is this "restart" issue caused by car's setup or by driver? I am just frustrated to see Jeff is still struggling on the restart that caused him some wins this year.
