Jeff to Start 10th at Bristol

March 20 – - Jeff Gordon turned in his best qualifying performance in nearly a month, but it was only good enough for the 10th starting position in Sunday’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. With the tight confines of pit road at Bristol, Gordon will need a little luck — not to mention a fast car– to stay up front on the 1/2-mile track. Recent races at the track have been a far cry from the slugfests they used to be due in part to the variable banking in the corners that allow drivers on the high side to maintain momentum.
