April 3 – – Jeff Gordon will start on the outside of the front row in Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway. Gordon is looking to snap two winless streaks: a 47-race victory lane drought and an 0-for-16 career mark at the Texas track. For the second time this season, Gordon will spotlight the National Guard– this time it’s the GED Plus program. “GED Plus allows non-high school graduates an opportunity to gain a high school diploma for free,” Gordon said. “By helping these students through this program, the National Guard is providing them with the hands-on training they need to increase their chances of being employed later on.” Gordon will partner with the National Guard in six other races this season, including Darlington on May 9; Michigan on June 14; Chicago on July 11; Richmond on September 12; New Hampshire on September 20; and Martinsville on October 25.
