Miami In-Car Audio

Jimmie Johnson claimed his 6th NASCAR championship in the last 8 years with an 8th place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway. His Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon posted his best points finish since 2009 by finishing 9th. That earns Gordon a stage invitation at the NASCAR banquet for the 19th time in the last 20 years. Gordon concluded his season with an 11th place effort at Homestead. At the front of the field, Denny Hamlin capped an arduous and injury-plagued season with a victory in the season-finale.

Gordon started 26th and moved into the top-20 within 7 laps. He ran 19th when the first caution waved on lap 10 for debris. Pit stops followed with Gordon exiting in 24th place. He re-entered the top-20 on lap 19 and advanced to 16th on lap 23. The next caution came on lap 24 for Travis Kvapil’s spin. Gordon pitted and restarted in 20th place. He quickly moved up to 17th within a lap of the restart. Gordon entered the top-10 with a move around Ryan Newman on lap 34. Eight laps later he entered the top-5. At the 50-lap mark, Gordon took 4th from Brad Keselowski. The third caution came at lap 68 for debris. Gordon held 4th place through the cycle of pit stops. He dropped to 6th shortly after the restart and was in 7th when the next caution waved on lap 90 for Dave Blaney’s spin. Gordon restarted in 8th place on lap 94. He fell to 9th by lap 100, but rebounded as the run progressed to take 7th from Dale Earnhardt Jr on lap 105. Fifteen laps later he re-entered the top-5. However, Earnhardt Jr went by on lap 123 to send Gordon back to 6th place. Just after the halfway point, Gordon came to pit road for a green flag pit stop.

A debris caution on lap 152 brought pit stops with Gordon holding the 6th spot. As the sun began setting, Gordon moved closer to the front by taking 3rd place from Brad Keselowski on lap 170. The next caution came on lap 193 for debris. Gordon came to pit road and restarted in 2nd place. However, he spun the tires on the restart and dropped to 8th place. He eventually regrouped and moved up to 6th with 64 laps to go. A caution on lap 206 for Paul Menard’s cut tire slowed the field. Gordon exited pit road in 8th place after opting for four tires. He made his way back into the top-5 with a move around Kevin Harvick with 50 laps to go. Paul Menard’s inferno on pit road brought out a caution with 36 to go. Gordon held 5th place through the final round of pit stops. He struggled on the inside line and fell to 9th within a lap of the restart. With 20 to go, he dropped to 10th as Jimmie Johnson went by. Gordon finished the season with a 11th place finish.

Turning point
Gordon restarted in 5th place on the final restart with 21 laps to go, but struggled on the inside line and dropped back in the field.

Phoenix In-Car Audio

Jeff Gordon was officially eliminated from title contention after posting a 14th place finish at Phoenix Raceway. Gordon led 49 laps during the event and restarted in 5th in the closing stages. However, he struggled on the inside line and wound up 14th at the finish.

Gordon started 5th and moved to the runner-up spot within a lap after Joey Logano got into Jimmie Johnson, which forced the field to slow down. Gordon tracked down Denny Hamlin and took the lead on lap 19. The first caution waved on lap 50 for Hamlin’s spin in turn 2. Pit stops followed with Gordon maintaining the race lead after opting for two tires. However, on the restart, Kevin Harvick used the outside line to take the lead. Jimmie Johnson took a spot from Gordon on lap 60 to send him to 3rd. The next caution waved on lap 100 for boredom. Gordon came to pit road for four tires and exited in 6th place due to some drivers opting for two tires. He moved to 5th prior to a caution for Timmy Hill’s crash on lap 117. Gordon fell to 8th after the restart as he was hindered by the inside line. The next caution came on lap 131 for Dave Blaney’s spin. After the restart, Gordon passed Martin Truex and Kurt Busch to run 6th on lap 140.

The next caution came on lap 144 for a crash involving Cole Whitt and David Reutimann. Gordon re-assumed the race lead after staying out while the leaders pitted. The next caution came for JJ Yeley’s spin on lap 161. Gordon pitted for two tires and restarted in 19th place. He moved through race traffic and ran in 15th place on lap 178. Gordon slipped to 16th prior to a caution for Reutimann’s wreck on lap 189. Gordon stayed out and restarted in 6th place on lap 200. He moved around Brad Keselowski to take 5th with 100 laps to go. Gordon pitted under green with 67 to go. When the pit stop sequence cycled through, Gordon ran 5th with 35 laps to go. A debris caution slowed the field with 30 to go. Gordon struggled on the inside line and dropped to 13th place with 20 to go. He finished the event in 14th place and remains 6th in the series standings.

Turning point
Gordon restarted in 5th with 26 laps to go, but struggled on the inside line and dropped outside the top-10.

Texas In-Car Audio

Jeff Gordon cut a tire on lap 73 at Texas Motor Speedway and made heavy contact with the wall. Gordon pulled into the garage for lengthy repairs, which essentially put a dagger in his championship hopes. The 38th place finish dropped Gordon to a tie for 6th in the standings, trailing points leader Jimmie Johnson by 69.

Gordon started 8th and dropped to 11th by the end of lap 2. He re-entered the top-10 with a pass on Joey Logano just before a debris caution on lap 15. Gordon came to pit road for four tires and restarted in 8th place. However, he was caught in the middle of a 3-wide pack coming off turn 2 and dropped to 15th on lap 20. He dropped as low as 17th before taking a position from Denny Hamlin on lap 25. Gordon steadily worked through race traffic and advanced to 13th on lap 35. Ten laps later he moved up to 10th place by passing Ricky Stenhouse. The next caution waved on lap 56 after Kyle Busch got into the turn 3 wall. Gordon held 10th place through the round of pit stops.

However, Gordon’s hopes for the championship took a major hit (literally) on lap 73 when a flat tire resulted in heavy contact with the right side against the wall. Gordon pulled behind the wall for repairs and exited the car. After almost two hours, Gordon returned to the race in the final 80 laps. He picked up 4 spots and finished the event in 38th place.

Turning point
A flat tire heading down the frontstretch on lap 73 resulted in wall contact, which essentially ended Gordon’s title hopes for 2013.

JG’s comments
“I just know the left front went down as I was going down the front straightaway. I felt it before I got there and just couldn’t get it slowed down enough. The wind was so strong that the car was doing funky things down the straightaway. I don’t know if that was a slow leak or it just went all of a sudden. Our car just didn’t take off very good, but boy was it strong on the long runs. We just needed to get some better track position on the inside on the restarts and we actually had a really good race car. But it’s unfortunate. This is definitely going to hurt (in points). We’ll just get what we can out of this day and go on to Phoenix.”

Martinsville In-Car Audio

 Jeff Gordon broke a long drought at Martinsville Speedway Sunday afternoon, winning the Goody’s 500 for his eighth Martinsville victory, but his first since winning this race in the fall of 2005. It was his first win of the season and the 88th of his NASCAR Cup series career. “This is a special win for many reasons,” Gordon said. “It’s Martinsville. That grandfather clock (winner’s trophy) is special. It’s a historical track. It’s been good to me. There’s a lot of meaning to winning at this track.” Gordon moved up to 3rd in the NASCAR standings and trails Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson by 27 points with 3 races remaining in the season.

Talladega In-Car Audio

With 20 laps to go at Talladega Superspeedway, Jeff Gordon found himself in 2nd place. However, as is usually the case at Talladega, things can change drastically in an instant with one move in the draft. Gordon faded outside the top-20 with 16 laps to go and rallied back slightly to finish 14th. He trails points leader Jimmie Johnson by 34 points with 4 races remaining in the season. Gordon’s 9th consecutive top-15 finish is a study in consistency, but he was hoping for more at Talladega.

Gordon started 19th and played it conservative at the outset by dropping to 33rd place behind the lead draft. On lap 10, he dropped to 35th place while running with Kevin Harvick and others distantly behind the 20-car pack at the front of the field. At the 100-mile mark, Gordon ran in 30th place in conservative mode more than 3 seconds behind the leader. He stayed out during a cycle of green flag pit stops and led a lap before coming to pit road on lap 46. Following stops he ran in 25th place on lap 50. Gordon drafted up to 20th place behind David Reuttiman on lap 73, but slipped to 26th by the end of lap 74. The next caution waved on lap 76 when Marcos Ambrose and Juan Pablo Montoya wrecked in the tri-oval. Gordon took four tires during the round of pit stops and restarted in 25th place. At the halfway point, Gordon ran in 33rd in single file toward the rear of the drafting pack.

Gordon ran near 30th for the balance of the next fuel run. He stayed out during a green flag sequence to lead two more laps before coming to pit road for a two-tire stop on lap 125. He cycled through in 22nd place toward the back of the lead drafting pack. He then opted to join the competitive battle for position and moved up to 18th on lap 130 using the middle line. Drafting behind Michael McDowell he moved into the top-10 on lap 133. On lap 140 he moved to the high line and ran 7th behind Joey Logano. He ducked to the low line on lap 148 to draft in front of Jimmie Johnson. He advanced to 2nd place behind Dale Earnhardt Jr on lap 152. Gordon came to pit road with 27 to go for right side tires and cycled through in 3rd place behind Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle. He moved to 2nd place with 21 to go when Biffle moved to the high line. However, he was caught in the middle of a drafting line and slipped to 4th with 19 to go. Gordon moved to the low line with 13 to go and got a drafting push from Casey Mears to make a charge for 3rd place. However, the line struggled and Gordon dropped to 7th. He fell outside the top-20 with 9 laps to go and ran in a draft behind Clint Bowyer. With 3 to go, he moved into a drafting line behind Johnson in 18th place. After a crash on the final lap involving Mears and Austin Dillon, Gordon was credited with a 14th place finish.

Turning point
Gordon was shuffled from 2nd place outside the top-20 with 19 laps to go. That effectively ended his hopes for a solid finish.

“It was a good day. I thought that the car was fantastic. I thought the team did an awesome job of executing our plan and we were in perfect position. And it just didn’t work out. I got kind of shoved on the back straightaway and was trying not to wreck and that got me out of a really good position and then we were kind of a sitting duck at that point and just went to the back and wanted to see what we could do with them on that final lap. And of course you know, a wreck is going to happen. I hope Austin (Dillon) and Casey (Mears) are okay. That looked pretty nasty.”

Jeff Gordon finished 7th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He remains 4th in the NASCAR points standings, 36 points behind Matt Kenseth. As the polesitter, Gordon led the first 26 laps of the event. He’s led more laps in the last 7 races (153 laps) than he did in the first 24 races (151 laps) this season.

Gordon started on the pole and led the first 25 laps before the caution waved for JJ Yeley’s wall contact. After opting for four tires, Gordon restarted 8th on lap 30. He worked through drivers who took two tires and ran 5th on lap 38. However, he was unable to gain further headway prior to a green flag pit stop on lap 77. The next caution waved on lap 83 for Mark Martin’s engine. On the restart, Gordon used the outside line to take 3rd from Jimmie Johnson. However, he battled a tight handling issue and dropped to 5th as Johnson and Kyle Busch passed by lap 125. Gordon came to pit road for a green flag stop on lap 127. At the halfway point, Gordon ran in 5th place, more than 10 seconds behind race leader Kasey Kahne.

A debris caution on lap 172 brought the lead lap cars to pit road. Gordon gained two spots exiting the pits and restarted in 3rd. Kyle Busch went by shortly after the restart to send Gordon to 4th. Matt Kenseth passed on lap 217, which dropped Gordon to 5th. Three laps later Ryan Newman tracked Gordon down for position. He came to pit road for a green flag stop on lap 228. Gordon took 6th from Newman shortly after the stops, but gave the spot back on lap 273. He came to pit road for a green flag stop with 52 laps to go.

Gordon once again took 6th from Newman after the round of pit stops. A debris caution with 28 laps to go took fuel strategy out of the equation. Gordon opted for two tires and restarted in 2nd place on the outside of Kasey Kahne. Two laps after the restart, Matt Kenseth went by on the high side to send Gordon to 3rd. Brad Keselowski passed the #24 car on the backstretch to send him to 4th. With 19 laps to go, Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson passed Gordon for position. Kevin Harvick passed Gordon with 17 to go, which moved him back to 7th place where he finished.

Turning point
Crew chief Alan Gustafson opted for two tires on the final pit stop, thus mirroring the strategy of Kasey Kahne. Gordon restarted 2nd alongside Kahne, but was unable to hold the spot due to tight handling.

JG’s comments
“All weekend long other than qualifying we were just battling getting the car through the center of the corner having the rear security on fresh tires and then having the front turn once the pressures and heat got in the tires. So, it was a fantastic performance. That balance we could never really get it. Certainly it helps when you’re out front. That first run it was pretty good, but I could feel it going that direction. My car was really good on 4 tires. At the end I loved the call by Alan to take 2. It got us up there. I went through turns 1 and 2 and I was like, ‘oh boy, we might have something for them.’ But then I went through turns 3 and 4 and it got tight. Boy, it just kept getting tighter and tighter. I thought we were pretty fortunate to finish 7th. We put in a great effort to hang in there.”

“It was a solid night. I was really good out front there in the beginning. We really struggled all day on Friday and tonight we could just not get it to take off good and then be good on the long runs. It looked like some guys were maybe a little bit freer than us on the shorter runs, but we were still able to maintain some good laps times and then be good on the long runs. It was a solid effort. It was a great call there to try to make two (tires) work. Our car was just way too tight to be able to do it. We lost a few more positions than I was hoping. But it was still solid.”

It wasn’t a long-awaited win for Jeff Gordon in the Hollywood Casino 400, but a solid 3rd place finish moved him to 4th in the NASCAR standings, just 32 points from the lead. Gordon’s 429th career top-10 moved him past Dale Earnhardt for the 4th highest total in NASCAR history.

Gordon started 14th and ran well ahead of a lap 1 crash involving Danica Patrick. He advanced to 12th by lap 35 and ran 11th when the caution waved on lap 42 for Michael McDowell slowing on the track. Gordon opted for two tires on the pit stop and restarted in 4th place. He used the outside line to take 3rd, but returned to 4th when Jimmie Johnson passed on lap 69. Gordon came to pit road for a stop on lap 85, just prior to a debris caution on lap 87. Although the caution trapped him a lap down, he stayed out for the wave around to get back on the lead lap. He restarted in 28th place on lap 92. Gordon steadily gained spots and ran 21st at the 100-lap mark. Gordon had advanced to 18th before the caution waved on lap 118 for Landon Cassill’s engine. Pit stops followed with Gordon opting for two tires and restarting in 14th place. He ran 12th at the halfway mark just prior to a caution for a wreck involving Ryan Newman and Justin Allgaier.

Pit stops followed with Gordon opting for two tires. He restarted 11th on lap 144 and moved into the top-10 prior to the next caution for Travis Kvapil’s spin on lap 146. Gordon moved around Carl Edwards and Dale Earnhardt Jr on lap 152 to take 7th place. However, he battled a tight handling condition and dropped to 11th by lap 165. A caution for David Gilliland’s wreck with 97 to go brought Gordon to pit road for adjustments. He changed four tires and restarted in 19th place. Gordon gained 4 spots after the restart to run 15th, prior to a caution for Casey Mears’ wall contact on lap 180. Kyle Busch’s spin brought out another caution with Gordon moving up to 13th place. The next caution waved with 68 laps to go when Carl Edwards made contact with Busch, which sent him into the wall and destroyed the front of the M&M’s Toyota. Gordon came to pit road for four tires and restarted in 28th place. He came to top off the fuel with 61 laps to go.

Gordon worked through race traffic and ran 18th with 50 laps to go. He moved up to 11th place prior to a debris caution with 40 to go. Gordon came to pit road for two tires and restarted in 3rd place because he didn’t have to wait on fuel as the other drivers did. On the restart, Gordon moved around Jeff Burton to take the runner-up spot. He ran more than a second behind race leader Kevin Harvick before a caution for Brian Vickers’ crash slowed the field with 25 laps to go. He restarted on the inside of Harvick with 19 to go. Kurt Busch moved to the outside to pass Gordon in turn 1. Gordon settled into 3rd place behind Busch where he finished the race.

Turning point
Topping off the fuel with 61 laps to go allowed Gordon to spend less time on pit road when he came in for the final with 40 laps to go.

JG’s comments
“It was a great day for our team. Ever since the Chase started, they’ve been bringing me awesome race cars. We’re having a lot of fun out there. Everything could have gone wrong for us today, and there at the end it actually went right. So, that’s nice to have.”

ON POST-RACE DISCUSSION WITH KURT BUSCH

“It’s not a NASCAR race if you don’t have a discussion with another driver about an incident on the track. These restarts are so tough. Everybody’s trying to get every position they can. I got in the outside lane one time and (Kurt) just came up. The next lap I got to his bumper and got him loose. That led to him wanting to run into me on the right side on my door. These cars are so sensitive aerodynamic-wise. You just can’t have any little damage like that. It did seem to affect our car. I just wanted to have a good civil conversation with Kurt, and we did. We’re really proud to finish 3rd today.”

Jimmie Johnson dominated the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway leading more than half of the event en route to his 8th career win on the 1-mile track. Jeff Gordon posted a 4th place finish and moved into a tie for 4th in the series standings.

Gordon started 16th and moved up to 12th place by lap 25. He advanced to 11th prior to the first caution on lap 37 for debris. Pit stops followed with Gordon restarting in 12th place on lap 41. He moved into the top-10 by lap 60 and ran 9th on lap 70. At the 100-lap mark, Gordon ran in 7th place as the #24 car seemed at its best on longer runs. He led two laps prior to green flag pit stops on lap 125 — the fifth consecutive race Gordon has led. Following stops he ran in 8th place, but was unable to make headway over the next 40 laps. A debris caution on lap 164 brought the lead lap cars to pit road. Gordon restarted in 7th place on lap 170. After slipping to 9th on the restart, Gordon rallied back to run 7th at the halfway point.

Gordon took 6th from Ryan Newman on lap 224 as the car improved on the long run. A caution on lap 227 for Brad Keselowski’s engine brought the leaders to pit road. Gordon held 6th place through the cycle of pit stops. He used the outside line to his advantage and took 5th shortly after the restart. Gordon took 4th from Kyle Busch on lap 264 and moved to 3rd with a pass on Matt Kenseth on lap 266. He gained ground on his Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr prior to a green flag pit stop cycle on lap 313. A debris caution with 31 laps to go altered late race strategy and brought the leaders to pit road for the final time. Crew chief Alan Gustafson called for two-tire change and Gordon restarted in 2nd place.

Johnson, as the race leader, opted for the outside line for the restart with 27 laps to go. Gordon dropped to 4th on the restart behind Johnson, Earnhardt Jr, and Joey Logano. He wound up the event in 4th place — his 5th top-10 in the last 6 races. Gordon moved up to a tie for 4th in the series standings, 39 points from the top spot.

Turning point
Gordon restarted 2nd with 27 to go, but struggled on short runs throughout the day. Without the last caution, it was possible that Gordon could have stretched his fuel to the finish and captured a victory

Jeff Gordon seemed to be in control of the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He led more than 30 laps as the race approached 100 laps to go. However, a costly mistake on pit road dropped Gordon back to 22nd place. He slid through the pit box onto the white line and had to back up. In the final stages, Gordon moved from 22nd up to 15th to salvage the day. He trails race winner and points leader Matt Kenseth by 42 — the equivalent of a full race.

Gordon started 3rd and took the runner-up spot from Ryan Newman at the end of lap 3. He held the spot until the competition caution on lap 30. After taking two tires, Gordon made contact on pit road with David Ragan who was entering his stall. The contact wrinkled the sheet metal in front of Gordon’s right front tire. He restarted in 6th place on lap 34 and quickly moved to 5th by lap 35. Two laps later the caution waved for a wreck involving Jamie McMurray and Kevin Swindell. On the restart, Gordon fell to 7th on the inside line. Bobby Labonte’s cut tire and subsequent crash brought out the caution on lap 52. Gordon moved to 6th after the next restart and took 5th from Brad Keselowski on lap 62. Twenty laps later he advanced to 4th with a move around Newman. Gordon assumed the lead on lap 110 during a green flag pit stop sequence. He came to pit road one lap later for a four-tire change.

Followng the stops, Gordon cycled through in 5th place behind Keselowski. At the halfway point, Gordon advanced to 4th by passing Kasey Kahne. A caution on lap 164 brought the lead lap cars to pit road. Gordon’s crew opted for two tires and restarted with the race lead. A debris caution with 100 to go slowed the field. Gordon slid through his pit box to the white line and needed to back up prior to a four-tire pit stop. He restarted back in 22nd place with 95 to go. He re-entered the top-20 with 85 laps to go and took 19th from Juan Pablo Montoya with 83 to go. Gordon had moved to 16th when the caution waved for David Gilliland’s engine with 55 laps to go. The #24 crew changed right side tires and Gordon restarted in 14th place. He moved to 13th just before Kahne crashed on the frontstretch — which effectively destroyed his teammate’s Chase hopes. On the restart, Gordon was caught in the middle line and dropped to 20th place with 40 laps to go. He steadily gained spots back and finished the race in 15th place.

Turning point
Gordon came to pit road with the race lead with 99 laps to go, but slid through his pit stall and dropped back to 22nd place on the track. The loss of track position ended his chances for a victory.

Jeff Gordon posted a hard fought 6th place finish in the day/night Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. Gordon led 22 laps and seemed destined for a solid top-5 finish to start the Chase. However, a flat tire on lap 173 brought Gordon to pit road under the green flag. He lost a lap and his chances for a Chase-opening victory were dashed. He was able to get back on the lead lap with less than 40 laps to go and salvaged a 6th place finish. Gordon moved up to 7th in the series standings, trailing points leader Matt Kenseth by 24.

After rain showers delayed the start by more than an hour, Gordon started 6th and dropped to 8th within a lap of the green flag. He held the spot until taking 7th from Kasey Kahne just before the competition caution on lap 30. He restarted in 11th place after opting for 4 tires. Gordon re-entered the top-10 on lap 39 with a pass on Greg Biffle, and took 9th from Martin Truex on lap 49. As the run progressed he took 8th from Ricky Stenhouse and moved around Aric Almirola to run 7th on lap 57. Gordon moved around Dale Earnhardt Jr for 6th on lap 60. He led 2 laps during a green flag pit stop sequence and cycled through in 6th place. Just 25 laps before the halfway point, rain arrived and brought out the caution flag. After more than 5 hours of rain and track drying, NASCAR restarted the event at 9pm/central time.

Pit stops came prior to the green flag and Gordon restarted in 11th place. He advanced to 10th before a debris caution on lap 122. Gordon used the outside line on the restart to move up to 7th by lap 130. He took 6th from Kasey Kahne on lap 134 and entered the top-5 by moving around Brian Vickers on lap 139. Two laps later he took 4th from Aric Almirola. The next caution waved on lap 147 for Justin Allgaier’s spin. Gordon changed two tires and emerged from pit road with the lead. He led the race until lap 167 when a debris caution brought the leaders to pit road. Kyle Busch beat Gordon off pit road after both opted for fuel-only stops. Gordon restarted 3rd after Biffle stayed out to assume the lead.

On the restart, Gordon slowed dramatically and came to pit road with a flat left rear tire. Two laps later the caution waved for Joey Logano’s engine. Gordon came to pit road for 4 tires and restarted in 33rd place, one lap down. He quickly got himself into the free pass position. However, race leader Kyle Busch began lapping the tail end of the lead lap, which made it more difficult for Gordon to get back on the lead lap. With 50 laps to go, the lead lap cars began coming to pit road for green flag stops. Gordon was able to stretch his fuel longer because of the pit stop earlier for the flat tire. With 43 laps to go, Gordon re-assumed the race lead because of the pit sequence. Gordon received a tremendous break when Dale Earnhardt Jr’s engine blew to bring out the caution flag.

Gordon came to pit road for tires and restarted in 18th place. He moved to 15th with 34 laps to go, and took 12th from Denny Hamlin one lap later. He re-entered the top-10 with a pass on Clint Bowyer with 29 to go. Allgaier’s second spin of the night brought out the caution with 28 to go. Gordon stayed on the track and restarted in 7th place. He took 6th place from Ricky Stenhouse with 18 to go and challenged Jimmie Johnson for 5th place before settling for 6th place at the finish.

Turning point
After a flat tire took him off the lead lap, Gordon was stretching his fuel hoping for a caution with less than 45 laps to go. Dale Earnhardt Jr’s engine brought out the caution that Gordon needed for a shot at a solid finish.

“That was an incredible accomplishment. It just shows how much fight this team has in them. They never give up. What an awesome [car] we had tonight. That was so much fun. To think how far down we were with 40 laps to go. We were like 18th on one of those last restarts. To be able to come up through there, get 6th, and have a shot at a top-5 is a lot of fun. That’s what we needed to get this thing started off right. I’m proud of this team and can’t wait to get to the next race.”
